Minneapolis City Council Candidate Mickey Moore
Issues Statement on Wording of Yes 4 Minneapolis Ballot Initiative
“We must remember one key fact when developing language for the Yes 4 Minneapolis ballot initiative voters will be asked to consider this fall.
“Voter participation averaged around 32% in the last five Minneapolis municipal elections. This means a select group of voters are making critical decisions about the structure and future of our city.
“The Minneapolis City Council must do everything in its power to ensure voters are well informed about all ballot initiatives, particularly those that will affect the safety and security of residents, visitors and business owners for generations to come.
“As a City Council candidate for Ward 9, I am in favor of providing full transparency on the pros and cons of all ballot initiatives. Therefore, I’m hopeful the Minneapolis City Council will work together to find suitable language that not only illuminates, but elucidates the truth about this all-important public safety endeavor that will set the future course for our great city.”
